Merseyside region covers Liverpool and the Merseyside area.
We have almost 50 members making us one of the largest Red Rope regions. We organise two day walks each month which typically attract between 10 + participants. The walk on the second Sunday of the month is around 8-11 miles and can be quite hilly. The walk on the fourth Sunday of the month is usually shorter, flatter and less demanding. There is a large and increasing number of members who are trained in navigation skills and experienced in leading walks. There are so many possible walking areas within reach of Liverpool that we are spoilt for choice. In normal times we travel to most of the walks by pooled transport but at the moment due to covid rules all walks are designed around public transport routes to allow us to travel their within the covid regulations.
In normal years we also go away about 4 weekends a year to the Lake District, Yorkshire, the Peak District or North Wales. We hold meetings twice a year to review and plan. We sometimes go to cultural events together and have a Christmas night out. A curry walk in the Autumn has been a popular tradition
We’re a friendly crowd who love getting out into the open air. We are very happy for non-members to join us for a walk to see if they enjoy the group before deciding whether or not to join.
