Activities

There will be a variety of activities to take part in – all optional of course.

Dinner at 7 will be followed by the evening’s entertainment, which will include a quiz. This timing makes it easier for nearby members to come just for the AGM and the social, and makes possible substantial walks on both Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday we are planning a whole bunch of activities during the day:

  • Treasure Hunt: This was a great success last year, (with a prize!) and Jon Marsden and Pat Durrant are planning a new hunt, this time around Hathersage.
  • Moorland walk: Hathersage is absolutely central to the Peak District, and we can walk out of the little town up onto the moors around Stanage Edge, and beyond.
  • Orienteering: Practice your navigation skills, walking independently around a pre-planned route.
  • Rock climbing: Malcolm Donne will take people out to the excellent climbing on the nearby “edges”.
  • Caving: We are also hoping to offer caving for those interested.

Orienteering, climbing and caving all depend on enough people being interested, so please use the booking form to state your preferences.

The usual sumptuous evening  meal will be at 7.00 pm

No need to bring your own drink!  Barbara has stocked the cellar as usual.

Breakfasts on Saturday and Sunday plus Saturday dinner, with Sat / Sun packed lunch are all included in the weekend accommodation charge.
